The story was too short--apparently even the author or publisher thought so too, since it was listed as book 3 but so was the subsequent book? Since the other book 3 was only 199pp, perhaps they should have been joined into a set? There was little effort to connect this vignette to the series. This was perhaps one of those Christmas interludes in many romance series. It needed more but it was interesting and empathetic to the characters. Certainly, it could have been made longer if there had been some development of the love beyond "You seem to be able to help me past my own affliction and tolerate my disability, let's get married."Product details

I looked forward to reading Michael's story after reading Jack's and
Elizabeth's. How very disappointing to discover a very very short stupid one.
I am a great fan of Ms.Pearce however this story could been so much more. It was entertaining but not enough depth as her other stories such as the simply series.
I love regency romances! I've read the other books in this series and liked them. This book was very short. It read more like a magazine article.
This was the last book in the Diable Delamere series, and while I enjoyed it, I found that its novella length and the inclusion of an unexpected and unwanted second story in the book confusing and disappointing. The novella was good, but things happened way too fast, and it was over before I finished enjoying the development of the characters.
Two for the price of one... Nice little story about Michael. Definitely a short story. Wish it had been just a wee bit longer and a bit more detailed. Bonus story was fun. Again, wish it was longer. All in all a fun read.
This wasn't a "full" book; the main event took just a few chapters and that was that. However, it was a great insight into characters that I loved from Kate Pearce's other works. It will be near the front on my PW to be read when I need a quick, hot story!
'Loving Michael' is Book 3 of the Diable Delamere series. Like the first two books, this story of Michael and Angelique continues the plot lines and strong characters found in 'Educating Elizabeth' and 'Loving Michael'. We are pulled deeper into the suspense of the central plot, and are treated to hot romance and happy endings along the way. I love to move from one book straight into the next and really get caught up in the webs surrounding the characters. I highly recommend this series.
